This weekend Day Tripper will be back at the coolest little Pub & Patio, in Mississauga, Abbey Road. It’s the best place to take in a little bit of Britain! It has a real comfortabe, Cheers atmosphere with great food and GREAT MUSIC! Friday night (Dec 5th) we will kick the night off at about 9:00 pm with 4 new songs we have added to our song list. If you are looking for something to do this weekend we’ll be out of town back in Orangeville on Friday. It will be our first time back at TJ’s Hanger since the “Jewish Cleansing” (this was told to me by a Jewish friend of mine, lol) or in English, the fire. I heard that the place burned to the ground but in talking to the owner that is not the case. I am glad that no one was hurt and I will be even happier to hear the PA did not survive, LOL!

BUT ON SATURDAY, we will be in Hamilton at a new bar to us called Waltz Live Music. Come on out and party with the band! We will have Craig & Sean with us. We have never played with this lineup so it should be fun. The cover is $5 before 11pm and $7 after. If you park underground be sure to get your parking stub validated so it will only cost you $1 or, park across the street in the lot for free (if it isn’t full).

This Friday night if you are looking for Something to do, Day Tripper will Come Together again & will be at Lezley’s Chaps for the first time (Not A Second Time) playing some Rock & Roll Music. Playing you’re your early favorites like Help & She Loves You, to the later years like I Am The Walrus! The club is in Burlington. You don’t need a Ticket To Ride, Because there is no cover. It not like it’s in Kansas City or Across The Universe, it’s only in Burlington. It Won’t Be Long till Friday arrives, as it is not a Long Long Long time away, so don’t Wait, I Want You to mark it on your calendar now! If you are celebrating a Birthday or just looking for somewhere to Twist & Shout or pick up a Girl (or Boys), or just forget about the Taxman, this is the place to be! I’ve got a feeling it’s going to be a great night. Tell Me Why you would want to miss this! What’s new with Practically Hip? Glad you asked!

We are finally going to start doing some new Hip tunes and some new Non Hip tunes. Time to change things a bit. This will happen over time, but, it’s time! The list is being made!

AND . . .

We have a couple of new rooms we are now playing. The first one is “Waltz Live Music” here in Hamilton. A really nice place, something a little different. The bar is attached to Jackson Square, downtown. Should be a lot of fun as we have Craig & Sean subbing in that night on guitar. We kick things off about 10pm and there is a $5 cover before 11pm, $7 after 11pm.

Halloween! We are doing the grand opening of a new bar called “Less Than Level” in Oakville.  The doors open at 6:00pm and the band goes on at 9:30. Just a $5 cover and you are in the door for the evening! There will be prizes for best costumes. The band is talking about donating a prize for “most revealing costume on a lady” but we can’t seem to agree on a prize LOL! Guess it’s open for discussion. Don’t sit at home with your Game Boy, playing with yourself, come on out and PARTY!!!!!!

Well last week we survived Acton’s Fall Fair. No real knock down fights, it was pretty tame! Just a few tongue lashings outside you know, beer induced lover’s quarrels between gents, and two nights of partying! It was great seeing all the familiar faces. A great sold out weekend, Friday & Saturday! The band got together on Sunday to discuss world events in the beer tent lol. It was my first time being at the Fair on a Sunday. The photos are up on the site, check’em out! No shortage of music, tattoos and laughs in Acton.

Well this week we are at the Boston Manor, if you haven’t been there, get yer ass out! It’s a cool place to get some eats, check out a band, shoot some pool and have a few drinks. We hit the stage early there, at 9:30 so don’t be late. Check out all our dates here!

If you love the 50’s you don’t want to miss Johnny & the Cruizers new show! All the summer festivals are now coming to a close and all the indoor events are starting to happen. From the little events like Participation House to Music In the City, in Hamilton right up to the festivals like Caledonia Fairgrounds, Westdale’s Sock Hop, London Pride Festival, Port Colborn’s Canal Days, Ajax’s Music Evenings in the Square, to the damp WestItalia & Grease A Rama. Next year it won’t rain, and we will be rocking out again.

Mark October 25th in your calendar! We are doing a special appearance at the Boston Manor. We don’t perform in bars, mostly corporate events and festivals due to the nature of the band but this is a special occasion. Please check our dates page for all our events.

Our newest news is, we are booked at the Grand Ballroom in Fallsview Casino for New Years! Unfortunately it is a private party for their “high rollers” so guests are not allowed. Sorry! But I will be back with a full report in 2009!

Well actually we are, “at” Abbey not “on”!

Abbey Road is a cool little pub for the Beatles fan. Lots of interesting memorabilia all over. We will be back on Friday September 26, stop in mate and have a bevy with the band. We have a week off and we are at a new bar called Leszley’s Chaps in Burlington on October 10th. Should be a great time!
